FU money starts at about $5M, but really kicks in at $30M.

Depends on you expenses, really. If your annual expenses are $450k, then no. If your annual expenses are $20k, then yes.

Only if you’re willing to spend it

There are two levels of rich:

“F you money” is where you can afford to tell someone to F themselves, and still be rich.

“F me money” is where you have so much money, you can spend so much money on an outright loss and still not care.

Most multi-millionaires and billionaires fall into “F me money” category.

Elon just has a separate tier all to himself. He could spend the GDP of a nation in an afternoon and not notice, or care.

Oh, and Bezos is swinging his legs from a ledge just beneath Elon’s level.

Not FU money for me, FU money would be I have a paid off home and enough income from investment to pay basic bills, groceries and property taxes

like

I agree with this ^
Either no debt and enough money to cover basic needs, or enough money to cover the mortgage and basic needs for a long time

like

Nope. Try 10x. $3-$4M for retirement + $1M for health and ancillary expenses.

I think double that is closer to what I’ll need to retire like I want.

It’s definitely please lower your voice money but I think 3 million and up is FU money

funny

Mmmmm no

Yes, assuming you live in Mogadishu in 1735

Not in the sense to fit the definition but sometimes I take out $300 from the ATM and that’s my FU money lol. I give out tips and money to homeless with it.

My friend is a millionaire, he spent 30k on drinks and food on a Saturday partying. I felt more fulfilled about my $300 than he did.

Double digit millions should do it.

i think it’s mostly about what safety net you need to feel secure

risk is a privilege that the financially secure can afford to take

which rewards them with higher returns, and the cycle continues.

I’m pretty into FIRE, so i’ve got my income modeled out and my budget dialed in.

I know I’m in a super privileged position. But it is possible!

Sounds less like FU money and more like FUself money, if you're trying to leave a job with just that much.

like

* 100? Then yeah

Not unless that’s enough to tell your company FU.

No

500M is

I currently work in Atlanta for a healthcare management company that is local to the area. I just got into the healthcare industry and have my bachelors degree in health science. I work in a position in the revenue cycle and I am looking to possibly get a new job in a more established company. I want more stability and opportunity within a company. Does anyone know of any places in/around Atlanta or remote that may fit this criteria? Sorry for the vagueness. Thanks!

What is a good interview answer for leaving a job after a few months when the real reason is that you’re sleeping with one eye open in hopes of not being on the chopping block after two rounds of massive layoffs? I have one pro bono case that I kept when I left my firm to go in house. It’s a matter completely unrelated to my company and I have malpractice insurance through the nonprofit organization associated with the case. I’ve made clear to my client that I’m repping this client in my personal capacity. No one has asked me specifically about pro bono stuff at my company - if I know there’s no conflict of interest, is this something I should disclose? To whom should I disclose this?
