Is it a bad time to interview with McKinsey during a bear market, or does it make no difference regardless the economy? Curious to know!

Hi - I am a career pivot from higher education into tech and have final round interviews for a DEI Coordinator role (which I'm super excited for). I am meeting with three people that I would be partnering with for the job and it was shared with me that these interviews will mainly be behavioral as well as questions on my technical skills. I got offer from persistent with 31lpa.
But most of the compensation they added into skill bonus-1400000. Due to that my basic salary is low- 50k as compared to my cctc basic salary, which is 63k with 19.5lpa.
Is it normally happening with everyone joining to persistent?
Can Persistent increase basic salary component and reduce the skill bouns?
I asked hr to increase my basic, but she mentioned that it’s system generated and standard format, vary cmpny to cmpny.
Plz help me out guys.

Over the last 12 months my role changed significantlu so in Jan I approached the CEO about a raise and promotion more in line with my work and he said yes - but not until until the end of Q1 when budgets are finalized. Covid hit and I was told all promotions and raises were put on hold. I never got a Q2 review bc my manager said the raise was up in the air still. But on Friday the CEO sent an email listing 17 promotions, not including me. Im meeting w my manager tomorrow but idk what to say.

McKinsey: what is internal perception/reputation of your different practices? For instance, corporate finance practice is the most sought after but yields ~80 hour weeks, M&S practice is the most collegial, etc.

BCG fish - can someone please share the interview process for PL? Is there a written /PowerPoint case?

Currently 1-1.5 years out of college, working at a T2 firm doing commercial due diligence work. Have gotten some offers but confused about which one to take:

1. OW PE team, joining in a position higher than at my current firm, basically skipping a year. OWs PE practice as far as I know doesn’t have huge market share
2. McKinseys PE practice but coming in a position lower than where I currently am
3. Stay at my current firm which is experiencing high growth

End goal is to move to the buy side

Currently in R2 with Bain & Company . Interview was scheduled 3 weeks apart from R1. Now they pushed my interviews another week. What should I do? I’m worried that other candidates with offers are asking to speed up their process or maybe it’s just that Partners are very busy. Thanks!

Did an exchange program gap year after college and landed in Deloitte GPS this fall, but thinking about trying to get into MBB because I don't want to do public sector long-term. When would be a good time to apply? Should I wait til I have 1 full year at Deloitte, or does it not matter that I only have a few months under my belt? Went to a target school and should be able to get a referral.

Is it common at McKinsey for partners to be heavily involved in projects? I work in industry and I’m on a project now where a Senior Partner and Partner are on most our calls and seem very involved in delivery. The EM takes point on the deck but less on client relationships. I used to work at Big 4 and honestly our partners were rarely involved.
