Is it expected that a paralegal should be answering discovery? What are your team procedures when you get served with propounding discovery? Which part does the paralegal play?

Paralegal talks to clients and drafts what they think are the correct answers and adds some objections. Attorney goes through and edits that draft or tells paralegal to ask client XYZ.

Throw back to having to draft the discovery responses, objections and responses to motions to compel with an attorney spending less than two minutes ‘reviewing’ each document. 🤡

To have the client take the first crack at it, then I have the law clerk or assistant reformat their answers or type them into a word document if it was sent back to us handwritten. I also have them go through the file and add more info client may have left out. Then I take it from there

Hi friends,
I just wanted to share what I feel for the few months. No drive in my life, been in depression phase.I have recently resigned form the job. I am planning for a career switch, it's been 2 months now. Nothing is going in the right way, feeling very low and no confidence at all. Negativity from the family , relatives constantly invading me for the joblessness. Now I am at my home watching my friends moving abroad, me at the zero level.

Can anyone provide me with insight as to what a comfortable salary would be in Austin, TX? Looking to move and Austin has become a possibility.

Once when I was waiting tables, I had a guy pay me cash. The change was 45 cents, which I didn't give back to him because like who wants that. He then asked where the change was, and when I explained that I didn't give back the loose change, he made a big stink about how dollars and cents matter and didn't leave me a tip. He was a republican staffer on capitol hill.

I don’t know how to feel. I am 52 and hired 2 creatives both at least 5 years older than me. It felt good to add depth to a young team, but on the flip side, these guys had to accept rather low wages.

I am looking into starting my own firm with one other attorney. I have never been a partner or solo so I am trying to figure out best practices right now. I would appreciate any advice on starting up, things to avoid, preferred software, which gods to pray to, etc. The goal is to be virtual and to primarily do PI with a small amount of business services (my current book is mostly business litigation/contacts/outside counsel work).

Thank you all in advance! This is pretty daunting.

For Plaintiff's attorneys, how big is your caseload? What kind of cases are the majority of them and are they in suit?
