It has become more common for companies to essentially ignore applicants unless they call them in for an interview. It may be that they're being slammed with so many applications that it's impossible to keep up with the volume. If you keep seeing the same position posted over and over, that may be a ghost job. Some companies post jobs they don't intend to fill just to make it look like they're doing well and are always hiring.
Way too many people in the market for HR roles. With limited positions and typically 1 HR per 200 or so employees why are so many people gravitating towards HR????? This needs to change in order for the market to be more candidate friendly
Yep. Same, and I’ll have my Masters in HR management in a couple of months. It’s very hard right now.
I have so many applicants that I can’t keep up and there is so much pressure from leadership to fill positions that theres just not enough time in the day
There is a great book for career moves called "What Color is Your Parachute"... Most HR folks are inundated with hundreds of candidates / resumes / applications / referrals / etc... applying online very seldom leads to getting hired. The key is finding an advocate on the inside of the company / industry you want to work with.
Why do you care whether they respond or not? What’s the benefit to you if you receive an acknowledgment. If you’re right for the position, they will reach out. They are going for the best person that fits all their criteria, and only they know who best fits the bill.
