If by surprise you mean you don't know everything that is happening, not unusual, but neither is it standard. If by surprise you mean you don't even know the date, they just kidnao you one weekend, the answer is no.
That said, it should not be a surprise for the other attendees. They need to have bought into the cost. If you plan on contributing to cover your expenses let he know that and that you need to know what to pack.
So I plan to have a conversation with her when she’s back in town (in her state) next month.
Just to get SOME clarity. The where is somewhere in my town and the when is during the week of the wedding but no specifics.
I’m not really sweating it because it’s not for like 6 months but I just wanted to see if having a surprise bachelorette was normal or not that’s all.
The only thing I said in the GC was hey I’d like to do a charm bar and spa day. I haven’t spoken with the other bridesmaids separately because MOH and I haven’t talked just yet and don’t want to start their relationship off shady..
I said I think so but I haven’t heard anything about what’s going on. She’s like that’s because it’s supposed to be a surprise. I’m like ooooh had no idea about that custom…
So is this the norm? A surprise bach?
