Family law associate. I run a docket of about 40-50 cases and work about 50 hours a week. I currently make about 125K (self-employed, no benefits). Between jury trials for CPS termination cases and the highly adversarial nature of family law, I find this job to be incredibly draining, as I have horrid work/life balance and struggle with constant anxiety. I recently got an offer with a personal injury firm. 110K, full benefits, for a non-litigation/docket manager role. Thoughts?
I want to switch role as an AWS developer. But I have just learnt the things on my own in AWS. In interview I am asked questions based on real scenarios on which I am not having any experience. Any suggestions? Even if I do hands on on services like Linux academy or quiklabs, it would not help. (AWS cloud migration experience one can get if worked on a real project). Please help.
About to hit 2 YOE from UG, currently working at a boutique on strategy projects. Tons of proposal work overload me and affect project performance, and each project is crammed and feels like being thrown into the deep end.. Is working at MBB even worse? Do you guys work on proposals while staffed on a project?
What is the general path from a Product Manager? Obvi it’s different between companies, but do you usually play that role for 3-4 years and then move? Where next..?

Thoughts? Which is more competitive for HSW MBA: Stay on 1 year and get promoted to manager at MBB (3 YOE at promotion) or exit as an associate to a top PE fund but forgo the manager promotion? Hoping to differentiate my app and could always try and exit after promo but aiming to apply in 2023 and would have very limited time in the new role
I’ve been contacted by a headhunter for a corporate strategy role at Visa. I only have 1 YOE in strategy consulting (focusing on CDDs). Any idea what this compensation package would look like?
Best exit options from management consulting? I’m currently a consultant at Accenture in their Strategy & Consulting practice. Debating on just switching to another consulting firm or going straight into industry and having more WLB. Any experience or advice would be helpful 😅
Serious question: I’ve worked in MBB, Big 4 and tier 2, and the number one reason I’ve heard for younger (less than 5 YoE) talent leaving is that they are “not doing strategy work.” It’s also the top request from younger staffers to do on every engagement team I’ve led. The question: Are there any consulting firms really letting new talent do this? Or is this the top delusion of new MBAs entering the consulting world?
We are currently on the waitlist for daycare/school for our second child (baby), at the same place first child is. A spot will be opening up soon but with omicron and how our older child's class keeps closing, I'm so torn. We currently have the grandparents watching the baby for now while we work but I can tell it's wearing on them, and it's a bit been distracting for me too. What would you do? Worried if we decline the spot it may be several months before available.
Anyone familiar with Human Capital consulting roles? I’m considering a move and it seems like Deloitte is ranked the best by Vault. Should I go there over MBB? If you have any info would love a ping. Thanks!
Been with Financial Advisor Practice for 4.4 years in Deloitte USI. Any Internal Movements available? If yes, how & who can I approach? Any leads would be appreciated as I would love to work with Deloitte for a few more years but want to do different work now as I am totally familiar with my current role.
When in a new role how often is it ok to ask questions to manager for direction? There are things I am sure I can research to possibly find an answer. But asking manager would save a lot of time. Do mangers get annoyed when you ask too many questions?
Seeing a lot more B4 to MBB laterals on this app lately. Those who made the jump, how has it been?

Does anyone have recommendations on how to decide your next career move? Been at Deloitte for ~2 years & trying to decide between moving to MBB, corporate strat, a start-up, or small PE firm. I know these are all extremely different but torn on which to pursue. Any recommendations, stories, or regrets on when you moved from Big 4 to somewhere else??

I had 2 babies at Deloitte and took advantage of this benefit and Metlife was explicit about it but now with my third am at a smaller company and smaller insurance company that can’t answer this for me. I have an offer from a FAANG company for a Customer Engineer role, and an offer from Goldman Sachs for Software Engineer. I'm a CS graduate. I've heard bad things about the engineering division at Goldman Sachs, but at the same time I'm not sure how technical the Customer Engineer role is. What should I do?
Need advice - working less than a month. I recently moved to industry as VP role from audit. I realized that workload and responsibilities were way more than I expected and the company fired so many people ( vps and svps) and wants me to replace 3 VPs work for the year-end. I worked all wknds just to figure out if I can compete the work or not, and concluded that it’s beyond my capacity. I was not told this during interview, and the culture is very toxic as well.
