Are alternative investments a good area to get started in? I’m making a career change from insurance and like asset management, possibly at Northern Trust. They have openings for alternative investment analyst and I wasn’t sure if that is a recommended area to start in or would that not allow for growth? I just don’t want to get stuck in a specialty and not be able to move up because of it. Any advice?

Would you take a significant paycut (30% or so) to join a tech firm in NYC vs staying in consulting?

My head says the financial hit would be too much but I am not planning on staying in consulting beyond another year or two.

I'm thinking of moving from large cap tech to large cap consultancy firm to help build the resume and round out my experience. I enjoy and do well in licensing, but I'm fairly young in my career (<6 years) and received a great offer to make the move.

in the past i have seen My project manager has not given them a release, in the end they have to resign.
I am in a product support project, i want to switch to another domain.
I am preparing for that but here also i work honestly. I got A band in the last 2 years, my lead is on notice period now they are making me lead ,i dont want that ( extra responsibilities with no extra money) but currently I am the only option for them.

My doubt is, does the value of the certificate of IFRS change depending on the Institution?

Will a person who cleared IFRS from IAAP have same value as a person who cleared IFRS from ACCA?

Anyone feel frustrated at times with the super aggressive sales personalities we deal with? My AE is always pushing on every ask no matter how minuscule it is. My vp is super anal about anything we do. I understand these guys pull in huge commissions and bonuses that’s why they are so motivated. When I moved in-house a year ago as a BigLaw mid-level, I took a 45% pay cut, far more than I was comfortable with (although I was fine with a 20-30% cut).
