I think the Uber and dining credit alone pretty much covers the annual cost of the card. If uber/Uber eats and the dining credit are already part of your monthly spend, I would go for it. You also get 4x back on supermarkets up to $25k
Big help. Thanks very much.
If you use Uber (every month) normally the $10 mo credit you get takes a big chunk of the $250 the reward points are most valuable if you redeem through travel so if you don't plan on traveling much might be a bit steep depending on how much you spend
No. You should not have any credit cards with annual fees at this point. Plenty of $0 annual fee, 2% cards available. If Uber Eats is a regular expense, go for the Savor CapitalOne card which gives you free Uber One through November 2024 and 10% cashback on Eats.
If Uber Eats not a big spend, go with any generic no annual fee, 2% card. Wells Fargo's Active Cash card is default standard - 2% cashback on everything, no annual fee, and free $200 if you spend $500 in first three months.
Agreed, unless your income is significantly high enough to warrant the annual fee, I’d stay back given the plethora of other cards that offer great cash back/rewards.
If you eat out a lot then yes. There’s $120 for grubhub credits and $120 in Uber eats credits every year so you basically only pay $10 for the card. Plus they have decent coupons so you can prob easily make the $10 back.
Also Amex does retention offers unlike chase (yes I would know I tried and plus I work there).
I use the Huntington voice credit card. No annual fee 3% cash back. I like that I can choose my category of choice and change it!
I just got rid of it because using the credits for Uber eats and grub hub is a scam they charge you more for the same food on those apps so to me those are a bit of a waste. And I’m saving for a wedding so I won’t be traveling for a bit. I have fidelity and I just got their credit card it’s 2% cash back on everything at no annual fee and it gets direct deposited into my investment portfolio. You can make the justification that the Amex gold is worth it but to me it isn’t
Have you ever had a credit card/do you have a credit history? If not - I’m curious if you would be approved.
It’s a very good card. The benefits definitely outweigh the annual fee. Great customer service and love earning the rewards points. My daughter loves it and it helps her credit.
Not sure if it actually helps your credit. It’s a charge card
