Yes. Look for work doing personal injury or first party property representing plaintiffs.
5 years doing ID, you almost certainly will get a firm to offer you 6 figure salary, plus commission on what you settle and usually most firms will pay a larger commission on work you personally bring in.
Try Morgan and Morgan or Kanner and Pintaluga, they always seem to be hiring. But there’s many others that are constantly hiring as well.
Any area of law can pay that much if you work for yourself and you can run a business the right way. I have two friends who net 80k by themselves in Florida doing criminal. I know family law attorneys who make that but I also know competitors who don’t. Because they don’t run a business appropriately. It’s always about your net not your gross.
I know personal injuries attorneys who make that just writing demand letters.
If you can get the clients you can make that easily. Even if you want a job and not to work for yourself then Every firm wants someone who can bring in clients.
Yeah, personal injury. Thing is, as you prob already know from working ID, there are tiers within the PI world. So consider that as well. For example, there are volume shops (think big advertisers like Morgan & Morgan) and PI boutiques that handle more serious injuries but are more difficult land as an associate. Across boutiques, some have a specialty for specific injuries tht comprise most of the work (e.g., premises liability, asbestos mass tort, consumer class actions, med mal, and even aviation accidents). Good luck!
