I have my Series 7, 63, and SIE. SIE and Series 63 does not require a sponsor. If you want to pivot to an entry level role, then SIE should be fine. SIE takes a month to study so it's not too difficult. Same with 63.
Take the SIE, it’s a pre-req for all of them and no sponsorship required
I was thinking Achievable as my source of studying. I can easily take it on the go since it’s online. Lunch breaks are to be study time soon at my desk. I took the practice exam on the finra website. I’m roughly 50% score and haven’t cracked open the book yet. Feeling somewhat confident but I’ll still need to put in the effort for sure
Some of them require sponsorship, so not really. I mean, you can study and take some of the tests that don't require sponsorship, but eventually you're going to need it. I would just do what you can while keeping your lending job, take the tests that don't require a sponsorship, and then if you are truly invested in it, find an employer that will sponsor the remaining tests after you feel ready to take them. It's a risk, but if you're really passionate about investing and truly want to make a change, it might be worth it.
Good to know! I had no idea some were requiring sponsorship and some weren’t. I had always thought all of them did require sponsorship lol
The series exams give you license to talk to clients on your own. If you are hired for a role that needs them, your firm will make you take and pass them after joining. When firms put them as a job requirement, it is because they are looking for someone who has that actual work experience already.
In any case, you should do the CFA if you want to work as an investor.
Wow financial analyst wants you to spend $ right away. There are several free options online to try 1st. Search your web browser for many options. Then you can go spend $on Amazon with Mometrix Media LLC.
I got my series 7 back in 2015 and needed a sponsoring broker.....I think now they did away with that and its called the SIE exam. I am also in lending (Short term MCA type lending) short sales cycle but getting bent over on commission restructuring every 3 months. Thinking about going back to investments myself.
As one mentioned already, the SIE and Series 63 don’t require sponsorship. Also, the Series 65 doesn’t require sponsorship either. I did the SIE and Series 65 on my own. Do the SIE and Series 65. You won’t need the 63 if you already have the 65.
I studied for them on my own. I think I bought study guides from Amazon and kind of remember taking pre tests online too
I took my 66, SIE, and 3 unattached.
Can’t get 7
But it will make you a much better candidate for a shop that will sponsor you.
