1. I’m pretty sure they are called data analysts. Is there a specific job posting you are referring to?
We have business process owners, those are different than day analysts.
2. USAA has a pension option that’s contributes 3% of an employee’s annual eligible earnings each year, it is fully vested at 3 years.
3. The 401k is great…if you put in 4%, USAA puts in 8%.
4. Do you know SQL? That will help. And if you are in claims now, looking for a claims data analyst position would be your best bet.
SQL is a part of the certification. I can also take another class of necessary. What can you tell me about the differences between business process owners vs analysts? I’ve heard it is very hard to get a job at USAA, do you have any insights? How do you like working at USAA and how long have you worked? (there if you feel comfortable.) Feel free to private message me. Thank you.
Process owners do just that, they own processes. Meaning they will initiate the procedure, write the procedure and are responsible for the process should anything break. Much different than a data analyst.
I have to respectfully push back on this. Because I can tell you from very good, knowledgeable resources, the process owners in your area, claims, do not have knowledge as to what they’re doing. That sounds exactly like what your area does.
I can tell you from firsthand knowledge other areas don’t do it that way. The claims process owners are known to be unknowledgeable, unaccountable, and disappear whenever they are called out for errors they’ve made, times that they need to be in meetings because they are the “ SME“. This is not every process owners but many in your area.
I know that is frustrating for your area, but your feedback needs to be given up your chain of command. Then you need to be sure that it gets followed up on. Because if you’re frustrated, imagine how the members are?
