Hi - I'm looking for a referral for a family member in the LA/Orange County. Relative is a permanent resident (has been for 10+ years) and looking to apply for citizenship. Relative had a juvenile record which was expunged ( I think it matters for citizenship). They had this record before they applied for their permanent residency. How common are credit checks for roles in accounting or finance positions? Will high utilization on credit card balances and low credit score be a deal breaker? I’ve been irresponsible and made mistakes, but wondering if I can switch jobs now or if I’m best off waiting 1-2 years and cleaning up my credit first.

I applied for a job at Visa and was contacted the same day. A few days later I had a 30-minute screening interview with the hiring manager. I knew I was very early in the process since the job had only been posted for a few days. It's been 3 weeks and I haven't heard back, even after reaching out to the recruiter.
