Any chance he can bring along from India? I’m sure if he has a written note from the doc, nobody can question.
Many people transport it in an insulated bag and hand it over to the hostess to store in the refrigerator/ ice pack they have on the plane. Buying here won’t be an option as he will have to pay ASP without insurance (travel health insurance doesn’t help)
We got them wrapped in Ice pack.. put in with the checked bags.. came in easily.. didn’t even need to get them refrigerated.. total journey was about 30 hours with layovers
You can put it in an insulated bag with ice pack and ask the air hostess to refrigerate in the flight . Of course, get a note from doc as EY1 suggested .
Thank you all, the question is around the transport. He has a prescription from doctor
Are you saying your father is not bringing it with him? Not sure I understand the question because like D1 said, it is a pretty routine request to ask the air hostess to store the insulin in the plane refrigerator. I’ve done it for my aunt on Cathay. And if the injection needles is your concern, the medical letter from the doctor should suffice for it to be carried onboard.
Insulin here is very expensive, you are better off getting it from India
Insulin in the US is extremely expensive. Look it up before you make a decision
