Our district is f2f 5 days. I thought the internships would be difficult to find but only one work setting said no.

ours has been suspended. No f2f interaction with industry

Lecture is f2f lab is in person. Externship hasn't been a problem

Here's a new reason why you should favor WFH vs in-office: In the case of a nuke dropping in your city, those seconds/minutes you get to respond if you are WFH could mean life or death.

Dreading going back to in-person work. Unfortunately I have no skills. What should I learn between now and next spring to set me up for 100% remote work? Currently a scrum tester -anything I can build of that with comparable salary?

Struggling with what to do about COVID depression. I feel like all my coworkers have families of their own or parents that have big homes to welcome them in, I have nobody and my mom’s apartment is too small to share with me. Everyone’s talking about how much they love teleworking and being home and it makes me feel super alone. I used to have a vibrant dating life, traveling is one of my main hobbies, and I genuinely enjoyed coming to work every day. I feel like my whole life is gone.

Does AFS have any plans to embrace some permanent wfh? Obviously I know this doesn’t apply to people going into SCIFs everyday, but I’m thinking of relocating out of the DMV down to Richmond but would like to stay in the Federal space if possible with the expectation of traveling to the DC area once or twice a week. I could likely pull this off at Deloitte, but the Firm’s WLB is starting to weigh on me and I’ve heard great things about AFS.

How much should a work from home auto adjuster be making? Would real property or commercial be more promising?
I don't know if my income can handle waiting 4-5 years to move up to management and honestly, I like handling claims. Where is the money at in this because I know alot of people are really making it. I'm at 46k a year and a top performer. I want 65k soon and ultimately want to be at 80k in the next three years. My family needs it ....

I accepted on a job offer for a cyber security start up a couple of weeks ago, and my two weeks notice at my current company is coming to an end. The offer I accepted is 65k base 130 ote in a hunter role full remote with shares. My current company just submitted a counter offer with the same base and OTE, but recently changed the commission structure where reaching OTE is quite a bit harder than previously (which is why I started looking for a new job in the first place).

How far do you live from your office / where you practice? I’m a solo with a land use / zoning practice. I’ve always lived in the same city I worked. Unrelated to Covid, my city has moved all filing and permitting to online systems which means I only have to be in person about 4-6 days a month. I’m thinking about moving about 40 minutes outside the city (and potentially as much as 1.5 hrs from evening meetings). Reasonable? Way too far?

As I actively look for another job, the question that keeps popping in my head is how I will resign. I work for a small company and just negotiated a remote work arrangement. I also work as head of HR.. how does a head of HR resign? Do I have to stay long enough to hire and train someone to replace me? The company denied my request of hiring a U.S. based generalist so they're kind of (for lack of better term) screwed. However, what if I have to leave on short notice? What are my responsibilities

Does anyone work being high since WFH started? Genuinely curious. Decided to try it and it was one of my most productive individual workdays in a while (granted it was only a couple hours and not a full day).

After how COVID was handled here in the States. Has anyone put thought into our country being transitioned to a more european style? Have a United States Union as a central body, but each state becomes its own country? Comparing land mass and populations from each state to individual EU countries it would make sense. Can freely travel between countries but would have border checks.

Does anyone else have partners making them come into the office (ignoring COVID restrictions) and barely anyone in the office is wearing their masks? How are people dealing with this? I feel like I can’t refuse to come in, but I have a lot of anxiety surrounding it (especially considering my husband is a doctor who works with immuno-compromised patients). For further context I am a first-year.

Hi guys, i need help! My neighbor got a dog during covid, and she doesn’t walk her but instead has the dog release on the fresh patches on her balcony. That won’t be any problem except we kinda share the balcony. And ever since she got the dog, the smell is non stop. I, myself is a dog owner, dog lover, i walk my dog outside and she can release herself on disposable pad at home if needed. and I throw it out right away. I’m frustrated, not sure how she can stand it and how I shall tell her? 🙏

After reading all these posts about people being offered so much money! I feel, I'm in a wrong place, a wrong company or I've some skill sets which are either useless or worth very less! I work at Airbnb as a claims specialist on 5 lpa fixed and incentives upto 20k per month? Isn't that too low? I've a total work experience of more than 4 years. What do I do to make more money! I can work with any company, without second thoughts, just need the offers to be higher than 8-9 lpa, I deserve this!!
