Does anyone have any insights on what a typical Sr. Associate Director makes at Boehringer Ingelheim? I have a range of 170-180k which I think is fair but don’t want to be underpaid. Also, any information regarding retirement planning or medical/dental benefits would be helpful. Haven’t gotten much out of HR. Thanks in advance!

I’m not sure, but I would encourage you to take control of your decision and your perspective, and not allow it to compound the negative feelings I’m sure you’ve had on your search. You took a role to serve your needs in the short term, and you are still available to explore other, more competitive offers. This is just empowering you to be more comfortable in your search. Especially at a lower base, it’s a means not and end. Rooting for you…
Right, I’ve gotten a lower-than-expected offer too. There was a little wiggle room for me to bump up, but not much. Take what you can and then keep looking for better. My experience has been that it’s normal to see lower offers, but there has been a little room to counter.
Accepting less than your previous salary is normal. Being told that an offer will be rescinded if you even attempt to negotiate isn't in my experience. If I was you, I'd probably accept it just to be working again and would continue applying elsewhere in my spare time. Just because you accept a lower offer doesn't mean you're stuck there permanently. Keep submitting applications and bail as soon as something better comes along. If they cared about retaining you, they would have offered more competitive pay.
It is very normal these days. A lot of people are in your position right now. Laid off employees will take whatever they are offered just so they can have an income again, and companies are taking full advantage. All we can really do is be grateful we can pay bills, because not everyone is so lucky, and hope that things improve.
Seems normal. Remember this doesn’t define your career. You can get back to your old salary
