Oracle India Hi Fishes,
Does anyone can suggest me what to do? I recently joined oracle as a staff Consultant supposed to work as a Java developer but working on their utility framework. I don't have any interest in this. I want to work on Java with springboot development projects.Oracle India

Happened to me, keep interviewing until you officially start the job just in case.
I have heard of this happening but maybe once or twice in the last decade. Keep applying until the day you start.
I doubt it'll happen since they already got approvals. Unless you fail the background check

The offer did mention a check for eligibility to work in the country but that's about it. They haven't asked me anything about that formally
In the UK, if you have signed the offer then there is a legally binding contract. If they withdraw the offer after signing it must be due to any conditions placed on the offer (eg criminal checks)
In theory they can pull the job but then they have to give you the notice period in the contract for the probationary period (eg one week’s notice)
If they just pull the offer and make no compensation you can take them to court - after all, you had to quit your previous job to accept the offer
Unfortunately, most US offers are explicitly not a contract. Some states have at-will employment meaning they could let you go at any time without any reason as long as their lawyers don't expect you to sue them based on a protected class such as race.
Europe, I mean, UK.. is quite different in many ways. US is the only country where employment at will applies.
It's been happening quite a lot this year in the SF Bay area. Many companies see their valuation drop due to economic downturn and institute a hiring freeze or even lay offs. Personell has a big impact on their bottom line.
Talk to the recruiter, have a start date in writing and the okay that background check has cleared. Don’t inform current company until background check is done. Only after that should you inform your current job.
If you live in one of the at-will employment states, yes. Technically anytime. But it doesn't mean companies would do it without reasons. It costs a lot of money to recruit a candidate.
It’s happened to me but they had only given a verbal offer and I hadn’t signed anything. I just started a new job last week so I was nervous about that too but I’ve been told that after signing it is highly unlikely they would rescind it
