It’s been over a week since I applied for the Slack solutions engineer role with a referral. Although I don’t quite meet the YOE, I have very relevant experience to the job description. I anticipated hopefully being able to snag an interview but still haven’t heard back. Wanted to know if anyone could provide insight for me regarding what I should expect. I know the job market is awful right now but I heard SF does value referrals so I was hoping I’d have a shot at an interview at least.

If a senior partner referred me, and I still haven't heard back after 4 weeks, what could be the reason as to the delay? Am I not getting an interview?

Do companies typically blacklist you if you received an offer and rejected it? For example, let’s say you were interviewing for Microsoft and during the final interview you didn’t like what you heard. They give you an offer and you reject it. However, there are still other roles at the company you would like to interview for.

Have a consulting interview this week I’m prepping for. Doesn’t necessarily have to be related to the case portion, but what are the best questions candidates have asked you during an interview?

Was interviewing with a firm and soon after receiving an offer, learned of bad culture/toxic partners in the practice group from a couple of associates who recently lateraled from the firm. I turned the offer down. A partner that I clicked with while interviewing reached out asking me why I turned down the offer. Should I be honest and relay what I heard?

Beginning to consider going in house (4th, corp) - I really haven’t thought about what I want, partly because I’m not sure what’s out there/attainable. Is it a bad idea to start by applying to a couple positions that interest me and seeing where that gets me? I’ll of course prep for the interviews but am afraid to burn potential bridges if I ultimately decline because I’m still figuring things out.

Any books/self help materials for someone who is constantly worrying (and waste a lot of unnecessary time)? E.g. No matter if i pass or fail an interview, there is always something to worry about. The worrying/anxiety multiplies when I proceeded further in the interview stages. Now that I signed the offer and is pending background checks, my anxiety is off the roof as it itches closer to my starting date.

Do all PM interviews have case study and strategy questions? Have you had an interview where you weren’t presented with them? I have two panel interviews with the same company coming up and was just curious!

I've had three interviews so far: 1) with the recruiter, 2) with the hiring manager, 3) with the lead of an adjacent division. I was contacted by the hiring manager (just 5 days after interview 3) asking if I was still interested and if I'm available for another meeting. He mentioned it would only take 30 minutes. Any thoughts on what to expect?

One query, I have received an offer letter from Wipro (Career Group: C1) with package of 28 LPA, out of which INR 420000 is allocated as 'Variable Pay' which will be paid on quarterly basis'. Need to know how much % would generally be paid out? Is it 100% or less as per the individual/organization performance.

FL peoples: I signed a lease for a new place to start May 1 as my current landlord sold the unit I'm in. Turns out, the buyer wants to keep renting the unit and asked if I want to stay. Of course I want to stay. My new lease hasn't started so I'm pretty sure I can easily back out. For the new lease, I'm still pending full approval from a condo association as I have to do an in person interview. I have paid first months rent in advance. Is there anyway to get that money back?

Situation: got an offer from firm X; highly likely to get a better offer from firm Y but official offer would take a couple of more weeks in best case scenario. However, firm X’s offer validity about to run out. Would you: (1) accept X’s offer now but rescind later if Y converts (2) ask X for additional time to decide (they’re “prestigious” and may not offer additional time...) (3) Play straight, decline X and hope Y converts (4) any other creative ideas ...???
