Yea that’s how consulting works, the more vocal you are the more likely you are to win over clients and get promotions. Being vocal sends a signal that you are being proactive and addressing issues.
Unfortunately, it’s the nature of the remote work world we live in now. Outspoken people appear more engaged whether it’s true or not.
Agreed and this is also often true for any work in general, remote or not. That’s just the way it is sometimes.
Coming from someone who similarly is very quiet by nature, four things have helped: Speak up more (while ensuring your contributions are meaningful); find a manager/team that appreciates you for your personality; continue to let the work speak for itself, including building a personal brand as an expert in something; and finally, don’t take things too personally.
I’m gonna be a little partial, you’re at the consultant level.
If you truly are fixing things and SC or Managers aren’t recognizing this talent you bring, then they are haters in the building unfortunately.
My management style is if you get stuff done, I don’t care if your mute I’d keep you on my team.
That being said, are you talking with clients? Etc. Unfortunately, part of the game is being liked for the rest of your career. Being book/work smart < Self-marketing and branding within any company.
I’d pick up some books on influence and consider it practice on every project or team you work with.

Good leaders see the real value. Others in real life do too. I’ve been on a jury twice and was selected as Foreman twice. I was quiet but asked solid questions. I see your point though, since you can’t count on your leaders recognizing your value. It’s also very important to be able to read the room.
