Trial and error.
Watering is dependent not only on plant but also the soil and lighting that permeates the space or plant directly.
It wasn’t until I moved that I realized my previous space was ideal for my plants. They were low-maintenance then. Now? Shifting every few days or inside/outside to get the right conditions.
Trial. And. Error. 😩 I lost two babies with this last move.
Agree with this, also have lost a lot of plants 😔 but over time you learn and your plants grow
It is trial and error. I don’t have any needy plants so I water once every 2 weeks in the winter and once a week to every 10 days in the summer.
I always judge by the weight of the container. If I lift it and it feels light, I water it. Also, watering potted plants is much different than in ground. There are always "dry spots" after the first watering. To combat this I water once, then again in a half hour or so. As one person stated, proper soil and drainage is extremely important. You can always judge by the lower leaves which usually droop first when plants are thirsty. Good luck and happy growing.
