It all depends on the organization. Some of them are pretty bad at getting back to people who apply. In fairness, online applications mean they can get slammed with an absurd number of applications, especially in this job market. In some ways the process of applying for a job these days just seems broken.
No, I think that's an anomaly. It really does vary by organization. I've had some hospitals take weeks to even send an automatic rejection email, others have asked for an interview the next day.
You are absolutely right. The clinic's and hospital's take forever. You know in this day and age people apply for positions because they need a job SOON, MAYBE even NOW.
Some large companies post openings that may never be filled or may not be filled for months.
Yes, this is exactly how things operate. Clinics, I think, are actually really looking for new employees, hospitals, however, I think, are just “fishing.” They might not even have a real position open. And, yes, hospitals take their own sweet time with not much communication.
