I’ve applied to over 40 jobs here and another 30 on indeed without getting a single interview. I even paid $200 to have my resume professionally updated and still heard nothing. I have over 15 years of experience as a server and went into more than 20 restaurants in person.

The only reason I got a job was through a buddy at a restaurant 10 minutes from my house where I’d worked before. It’s not my favorite, but I know the POS and menu.This job market is brutal. Has anyone else experienced this

Background: I’ve been overwhelmed in my current company/position. Found this position in another company but the position is to help to “build” the supply chain processes for the company. So while I think the company is alright and the people seem fine, I feel the “building” process will require more time and commitment I’m able to provide. I am from L3 support background good at troubleshooting Env issues & managing things assigned to me. Hv been working as Devops for sometime now but majority of IaC (chef, shell scripting) task is done by a colleague and I take care of calls & Env issues
Now I am planning to apply for Senior role in my job or switch but the problem is I am unable to clear interview coz of expectation of Scripting n Infra as a code req for all Devops related vacancies, Plz suggest a way fwd?

So I work as an assistant manager at a restaurant for the past 9 months. I've worked in restaurants for the past 6 years science I was 16. Now I'm 22. I went to a trade school for media and film. I got a dream opportunity to work in the field making about the same or 10% more. I told myself the only reason I'd leave this company is for this type of job. Should I take the chance at this job and leave the restaurant that is on the rise and growing?

I work in hospitality right now as a young person without a degree. Are there good opportunities for a career if I move up? Or should I go for a degree and switch to something else?

In Iowa, there is no Overtime pay mandate, the overtime pay is at the discretion of the business. I received 58.6 hours of base pay for the week.

If the company makes less than $1 million per year or does not engage in intercontinental sales, the company is not required to pay the overtime rate of time and a half, just your base rate.

Do you think culinary school is worth it? I've been a waiter for a year but really want to be a chef. The people I work with say to just start in the kitchen and work my way up but I think culinary school might get me where I want to be faster. The cost is pretty insane though. Any advice?
