Start looking right away! I think staying in a position for a year that you hate, isn’t fair to yourself or the business.
Start looking for a job right away, life is way too short to be miserable in your job. Think about how you feel after you leave at the end of the day and the impact it has on your personal life and those around you. You will raise the red flags when you completely check out, look for a job, contribute the best you can at your current job and leave on good terms.
You COULD just lump the 6 month period to the job you had prior to that…
Was the job completely different than what was described to you? What do you hate about it? Sales is a grind....
Start looking now. Your mental health is more important than a loyalty to accompany that doesn't deserve it. We all want to have that good track record of staying at a job for 3+ years or more, but that's just not realistic. If you run into an employer That sees your six months, and rolls their eyes at it, that just tells me they're devoid of empathy and only seeing things one way. That would be an HR department representing a company you don't want to be around. There will be companies out there that are empathetic to what you went through, so be honest. but don't mad about the employer itself. Give stories about high turnover rate, being given the job of three people instead of the one job or tasks you were supposed to be given to the beginning, do anything but badmouth the employers. Or say they were having internal power struggles at high levels, that were beyond your control. And everything trickle down to the employees.
