Hello all,
Would like to know specifically about Queer inclusion at SocGen Societe Generale. What is the attitude of mangers and HRs towards treating LGBTQ identifying candidates? Is company really inclusive or it’s just a lip service? Considering an offer with the company but being an out and proud Queer woman, super anxious and concerned.
anyone gonna buy any calls before market close?

Check out a Facebook group first. There are a few. I had mine removed after 2 years because of a bunch of strange side effects. I didn’t realize they were caused by the IUD until I joined a FB group. And yes, the pain during and for a while after insertion is pretty bad. Quite frankly it’s shocking they don’t give you any pain meds.
Oh and I also pretty much always had loose stools. I never thought it was the IUD until I joined a FB group and learned of so many other women experiencing the same thing. This was all while having mirena.
My first IUD was paragard. It made my periods unbearable. I’d start cramping a week before I got my period and while I had it. Very intense cramps. It was also much heavier than it was before the IUD.

I’ll be honest it’s a shock to the system with the pinch, but it’s over and done in 10 seconds and then you just feel like period cramps for maybe a hour or so. Worth it for the peace of mind it gives and your daily life is so much better than how I felt on the pills, no crazy side affects, weight gain, etc with it.
Yeah I completely agree with this. I'm on my second one - the insertion the first time hurt a bit worse but neither was a laughing matter - but it's pretty short lived and then you just don't have to think about it.
Truly don’t mean to scare you away from it, but in all honesty I’ve only heard one horror story after the other regarding IUD insertion pain.
Quick p.s. - people are posting about this subject all the time in the “young adults in (city)” FB group I belong to (or whatever it’s actually called lol). Maybe do a search and see if you can find something similar in your city?
The insertion pain wasn’t bad. The IUD shifting, poking into mt uterus, growing embedded there, and needing to be yanked out prematurely was.
Is there no way to avoid that? Do you know people who don't have these problems or does everyone have to deal with it
IuD pain or labor pains? Lol
IUD insertion pain.

I had a both the copper (full 10 years) and the hormonal. The second (Mirena) was the best since it eliminated my period (seriously a benefit) and helped me cope better with perimenopause.

Oh and the pain is momentary (nano-seconds) and only on insertion, removal is super easy.
Check out implantable birth control (Norplant). Long term, extremely effective, no pain or risk of perforation or migration in the uterus, since they are just small rods in your arm.
I had the copper IUD inserted a few months ago and would 100% recommend going ahead with it. My procedure was done under “twilight” sedation - effectively it’s a lighter form of sedation but I couldn’t remember the procedure which was very good. I would absolutely recommend being sedated for the insertion process, I was tossing up between being awake and under sedation because I didn’t understand the procedure well, but in hindsight the pain is substantial and I had strong cramps and pain the entire day after which I treated with Panadol and heat packs. In saying that, the IUD is a major upgrade from the pill, I feel so much more at ease not taking hormones and whilst my period is a little heavier it is actually shorter in length than when I was on the pill. So my advice would be to go ahead with it but make sure you are sedated for the insertion
I have the Mirena IUD. Best thing I’ve done. Pain sucked on insertion but then just felt like period cramps for a day or two. It was not nearly as bad as the pain I suffered from an endometrial biopsy.
I got mine put in in October last year and I’ve had maybe all of one insanely light period when I used to get terrible periods and cramping prior.
I was on oral BC for years (almost 20) prior to getting it. Had to stop the BC because of age and I started getting ocular migraines. I wish I got an IUD sooner!
I agree with another poster here that removal is worse. It’s temporary but still annoying that the discomfort would be ignored by physicians. I had a friend almost pass out from removal and had to call someone to pick her up. Something to consider but I wouldn’t let it hold me back on thinking about it as a birth control option.
Speaking from experience. I’ve had 3 different IUDs. The pain on insertion can be handled without pain meds. Also, I would prefer not to take any pain meds as if something unusual was to happen I would like to feel it and go to emergency.
Personally, I regret taking hormonal IUDs because it made me gain so much weight and had PCOs after removing my last one (which is really bad news if you want to have babies)… thank goodness I was still young enough to reverse the bad effects on my body. Take the non hormonal IUD if you need it. It is more painful, more period and more cramps but at least you won’t need a new wardrobe and chin/face hair removal …
Take a strong painkillers before then you’ll be fine. You’ll get random cramps first 2 days- they’ll be painful (get heat patches for that) but you’ll be fine after❤️.
That's good to know! Does the pain come back every month?
This was just discussed in another bowl I’m in. I do not have a high pain tolerance and found it to be very painful and uncomfortable for a solid 15-20 minutes. The days following I had some cramping but nothing out of the ordinary. I’ve heard a range of experiences though—some say it’s easy and some say it’s hell!
i remember getting mine and it honestly was some of the worst pain i have had. with that said i had it in for about 5 years, didnt get a period, minimal side effects, so i would say it was worth it. i only took it out cause i wanted to have kids and did have fertility issues from it ( had them for other reasons)
only during insertion
Here's the link to the article for anyone interested :) https://www.nytimes.com/2024/08/07/health/iud-insertion-pain.html
Yes it worth it. Just take in big breaths and slowly exhale through it and it's over quickly. It's not as bad as your brain is telling you it is.
