how long have you been there? definitely negotiate your salary if you have a solid case, including onboarding and training new joiners/staff
Leave and join a new company at higher salary is the easiest path forward, otherwise providing a competitor offer to your HR and see if they adjust
Always ask. You don’t get what you don’t ask for.
How much higher is their salary & how long have you been there? I’ve definitely navigated the awkward scenarios but had been very transparent with my manager as soon as I found out & was able to negotiate other things when additional comp wasn’t avail until my review (eg: prof development budget for me to go to major conferences & complete a report on findings)
That does mean it's time to take a serious look around. Either start building the case for yourself to make more or see what else is out there. The longer you wait, the further behind you’ll get.
Not sure where you work, but in my organization, we often speak to HR about doing an equity check on the department if we noticed that there is inequality in the compensation structure. Definitely worth addressing, especially since you are training the new hires. He definitely have a case for a change in compensation if they are unwilling to do so then I agree with the above it’s time for you to look for another role. I’ve often seen a valuable team. Member be offered an increase after finding a role elsewhere. Either way then at least you have options. Good luck!
Well, the fear not to talk about salary is a major blow to applicants. been called for interview and after worth the HR team is asking you what salary should they pay or offer you? Nice to say, let the company open up to what it has prepared and as company policy to simply pay if hired
