I replied to that email saying interview has been done and I am yet to receive any link from HCL for documents upload nor any call from HCL HR.

Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

This isn't new to me. When I landed my current role 5 years ago it was a 5 month process. I actually wrote them off after my final interview (3rd round) cause I didn't hear anything for 2 weeks after it concluded
I just landed my current role with a financial firm at the end of March, and the process began late November of last year.
It took a while because the org couldn't decide whether they wanted me as a contractor or an FTE.
I didn't mind either way, so the decision ultimately was to contract and flip to FTE in 6 months, so I can be gainfully employed while the packet is being processed, which is another 5 months.
I can't say whether this is the norm, but I can say that employers are much more stringent in the hiring process as remote work continues to decline, while the hybrid model is gaining ground.
