I’ve been reaching out to legal recruiters on LinkedIn for weeks, but I’m getting zero responses even though I see them posting daily. My profile is up to date, I have a solid background in insurance defense, and my messages are polite and professional. I’m starting to wonder if my cold outreach is just annoying people or if I’m targeting the wrong type of recruiters. Is it better to apply through firm portals directly, or is there a specific secret sauce to getting a recruiter to actually engage with you?

LinkedIn recruiters are basically sales reps who only get paid if they place you, and right now the market for insurance defense is saturated, so they’re ignoring you because you aren’t an 'easy win.'

I think you should apply to the firms directly or networking if you know anyone in the firm that is hiring

I posted about it on my Instagram HerMillennialMoney if you want to learn my tips and tricks with the care.

Why do recruiters never tell you which agency they want to talk to you about until they get you on the phone? I don’t want to waste anyone’s time and it would be helpful to know this info from the initial outreach. How do find a recruiter in the legal field? Have been looking for a job for a year now and trying to transition into another practice area. Applied to more than 20 jobs and still no offers. I feel like I might need some help.
Also, I have no idea how these arrangements work. Do you pay the recruiter to look for the jobs or do you pay them when you get the job? Or does the employer pay them?
