I've been wanting to get a dog, but I'm afraid I might not be able to financially support it with a Junior salary. What salary range should I wait to hit?

Be prepared if your dog ends up having health issues and look into insurance. My dog is a lot more expensive than I anticipated because of his lifelong meds, vet visits, prescription diet, etc.

like

Also consider if you have a partner and how much you travel for work. If you’re always out on production, someone will need to watch the dog and hiring a sitter adds up very quickly.

like

I make 53k and i am able to pay for my dog. He is small, 9 pounds so doesn’t eat as much and i dont have any debt so that is a big factor i’m grateful for.

I’ve saved up enough where I could. If you’re wise with your spending and save enough, its doable. But depends on factors like debt, where you live, the type of dog you get, etc.

Depends on where you live, debt, other expenses, etc.

does your dog need a dog walker/do you work from home ?

If you do end up getting a dog, there are a few low income vet options that exist. Google if there are any in your area and if you meet the threshold before committing !

I’m a junior and have a dog! It’s expensive but thank god for pet insurance. Has saved me so many times.

“Job hopper” and “quiet quitting” are all schemes made up by boomers to make you think everything is the employees fault. When in reality people are just getting out of bad situations. Older companies do whatever they can to pay you the least amount and get the max work out of you. Except our generation will just leave amid we’re being mistreated, not complain for 35 years making 50k and 0 advancement.

It's sad to see people with 2-3 years of experience getting paid more than you when u have double the experience. 😄 Best part is they are still complaining of getting less. Well I guess you should never settle. New gen is giving a hard time to the experienced folks. I think this is the high time to upgrade your skills. Come out of your comfort zone and start looking for new opportunities. I think this is the best time to switch if u haven't already in quite some time.

Not sure if this has been asked before but what are your billable expectations, what year are you, and what size firm are you at?

I have been lurking on fishbowl for a bit and it seems that my billable expectations at my small firm are too high (1850). I don’t hit them but neither does anyone else including senior associates / partners. Anyways, my boss is using that as an excuse to not give me a raise - so any insight you could provide would be helpful!

Hi,

I am done with the multiple rounds of technical interviews in PWC AC and HR confirmed that the feedback is positive and they are working on next process.
Its been one week I haven't received any communication on that. When I called HR, she told that background check team will reach out to me over email or call in some days.

Can anyone suggest if I should hope for the offer letter in this case from PWC AC or not.
Also, what salary I should negotiate for Senior Associate.

I started working as a consultant with EY 8 months ago. Even though I'm content and learning a lot there, I think there are places where I might easily earn more money. I received a job offer last week from Alvarez & Marsal to work as a consultant at the Transaction Advisory Department (financial due diligence team), where I will be paid more fairly (salary & bonus). Should I accept it? Or would leaving EY that early not be wise?
