Cut the ad budget completely, have the team carry out extensive research and then use nothing from it, spend one month of work in creating a super labour-intensive personalised Christmas card for each customer, demote a head of marketing that had completely transform the organisation as there were no immediate results, make decision exclusively based on the gut feeling of the owner, restructure the marketing team org chart 4 times in one year, constantly pitting marketing against sales. Shall I continue..?
Oh wow what a nightmare

Every time I think it can’t get crazier, it does!
Being sponsors of the World Cup in Qatar, everything related to the World Cup is a disaster and it's not since now, it's been known that this country would be the venue, but in the same way companies like McDonald's that already have a regular reputation become sponsors, deadly decision.
true, we'll have to wait and see how that plays out for all the sponsors
Confusing your goals with that of your customer or client’s goals. Your pain (supply chain problems) and their pain (need for low cost groceries) aren’t the same thing. We need empathy for them and should NOT expect empathy for ours.

Budweiser became a sponsor of the World Cup, it is one of the few World Cups in history where you cannot drink in the stadium at the same time, you cannot do a promo on the fences of the stadium and there are few places where you can show the brand, For me, it was a total disaster.
I'm not sure I would consider this a marketing blunder. The decision to be connected with the event was....questionable given all the human rights issues. However, they were told selling beer would be allowed and they signed a contract. It was Qatar that changed their mind.
Call of duty mobile signed three selection players to be characters in the game, including Messi, Neymar, and Paul Pogba, the latter was not called up by his team, I suppose that is a total disaster for the brand because they were not correctly advice in that matter.
Companies like Lifelock made a marketing mistake that not only causes a payment of 100 million dollars for deceptive advertising but also was a disaster for the company, this company focused on the protection of identity, the owner in a live broadcast shared his SSN and was hacked basically 11 times, that showed that the company was unreliable and everything else already explained.
What happened with the Tata Nano cannot be missed here, it was built in India and was easily the most profitable car in the world, but at the time of designing the marketing strategy he called it the cheapest car in the world, the result was that its market It almost disappeared for that reason, that is, people associate cheap with bad, so they didn't give it a chance.
Twitter. All of twitter. Does that count? Putting a price tag on that blue check cost them most of their advertizers almost overnight and I would imagine the lawsuits are piling up over lost revenue from companies that were hit by fake official tweets.

Moving cases vs building brands
Cut all ad spend then fired the entire office a few days later whilst still making plans for the future… telling the entire staff the brand will still survive and not to worry (after they’d been fired)
Ooof horrible
Cut the marketing budget in half without changing client expectations
Cutting the entire influencer and paid social budget…then wondering why sales slump months later
