That hasn't been too long. More likely than not, something is awaiting official sign-off from HR or something.
Internal referral - I’m not aware of any other candidates

I think it would be pretty odd for a firm to talk bonus structure and start dates if they didn't intend to make an offer. Two full business days is really no time at all in this world, and agree they are likely running through approvals before an offer can be formally extended. The more senior you are, the more people need to weigh in and the more time the process can take. If you haven't heard in another week or two, it seems fair to follow up.
For future readers, I got the job!
Congrats! Not many better feelings of relief than getting that call! Go celebrate!
Congrats, OP! They’re preparing your offer letter and tying up any loose ends.
I don’t think you have any reason to be concerned. Took over a week to get the offer (under similar circumstances to your own) from the firm I ended up joining). Another firm that offered me took nearly 3 weeks because of internal BS.
Congratulations! Tbh they were pretty fast then.
Yes that’s clear in retrospect hahaha
Would you be able to share what level of seniority you are at and are hoping to come in at? When I lateraled as someone more junior, interviews were with a more limited set of people and included some people who would be my peers. I am trying to assess whether interviews with 10 partners and no associates relates more to the firm's interview style or more to do with seniority.
I’m a fourth year. The firm offered for me to meet some associates, and I said that’d be great for my own interest, but they also said my latest meeting was the “last set of interviews”.
