I’ve recently received two job offers:

✅ One is from a local company with stable work and a familiar environment.
✅ The other is from an international company, but the contract will be through a third-party outsourcing agency.

Both are offering the same salary, and while the international name sounds impressive, the structure feels a bit uncertain.

When the senior who you thought was your buddy throws you under the bus to make himself look like manager material. This is like high-school all over again.

How do you handle rude clinicians in the workplace? I always have an attending talking down to me.

Need advice & perspectives: I got a verbal review from my manager saying he couldn’t see me as senior cuz I didn’t follow the design doc format he mandates from all designers. While I have been the only designer who does almost everything from design, UI asset creation, wiring up UI in Unity (I am in mobile gaming).
Also the product I’m on has been in MVP stage, things move extremely fast and design decisions changed constantly. He’s not on my team.
Am I crazy for thinking him a bad manager?

My old employer asked me if I wanted to come back to the company as a manager. The pay will likely be much better and the position holds more responsibility than I’ve had before, so overall it would be a step up. The issue is I left the company because of an abusive manager who constantly put me down and made me feel like I wasn’t doing anything right. If I come back I’d be working under her again. I know I'm being severely underpaid, I just want to know the range I SHOULD be making so I can bring it up with my employer so the eventual person in this position after me doesn't have to be in the same boat.

For reference: I make about $30k and I'm a (remote) graphic designer with 4 YOE and I do all the design work plus social media management for the company and outside clients. I also have multiple certifications. 🙃

How much should I expect to pay to a contractor for building a fully clickable prototype in figma? The design is multi platform and contains roughly 12 screens.

How do you count years of experience? Lets say you were a web master for 5 years. Then you transitioned into a proper UX role and did that for 5 years. Is that 10 years of experience or 5?

What pays more for a designer, in-house or agency?

Many predict that the true economic impact will start in September. As a designer, how do you prepare yourself: Become more specialized? Move somewhere cheaper? Change field? ...

What would you do?
- You have your annual review with your manager
- They promote you up a level, you see your new shiny salary and title
- End meeting
- Get a DM to meet with manager the same week
- Get told that your title was “a mistake” and that you would keep the salary and but not the title. Due to a communication with upper leadership.
- 2 months later your title updates in Messaging channels and with HR with the leveled up title.
