How about the retention pay? If we leave the company we need to pay entire retention pay?I have other wipro and CTS, which company is better to join?

NYC, 3 YOE, $70k (but I secured this salary with 2 YOE.) Job-hopping is really the only way to significantly level-up your pay, and if they're not paying you enough to survive, you shouldn't feel bad about bouncing.
With 4 YOE I think you can be pulling at least $60-70k in a remote gig, likely more.
Baltimore, Designer 1 Level, ~5 YOE, $73,000 + bonus
Thanks for starting this thread, very helpful information to have from everyone!!
Boston, 6 YOE. $90K as a graphic + web designer at a tech startup
San Francisco
YOE: 7, recently got promoted to senior
122k plus stocks/RSUs and ~15-20% bonus each year
NJ. 20 years of experience. $145K.
Around 8 YOE, Sr. UX Designer, Washington state (remote).
Salary $160k with around 15% bonus a year.
I need to get into ux
Around 7 YOE Senior product designer based out of Milwaukee.
130k base + 20% bonus (about 15k after taxes this year)
I was once in your position making about 40k a year as an interactive web designer at an in-house agency. Super over worked and doing the job of like 3 or 4 people with a 2% raise every year. Ever since I left and changed to UX I’ve doubled my previous salary at every job I’ve been to.
My first job out of college in 2013 paid $40K (Boston). Transitioned from Art Direction to Product Design over time. Current base is $205K (fully remote).
You are being severely underpaid and deserve better. My recommendation is to optimize your portfolio for UX/UI or Visual or Product Design. There are a lot of opportunities out there today and it’s an employee’s market for the first time in decades.

Good luck!
As manager/director who hire many people. It’s all depended on your location. doesn’t matter remote or or not, salary is based on “your” location.
MCOL area for mid level 1-3 YOE:
Production designer = 45k
Graphic designer = 55k
Content designer = 65k
Digital/web designer = 65k
UX designer = 75k
UI/product designer = 75k
LCOL -15-20%
HCOL +15-20%
I’m now experience design director in MCOL area with 10YOE = 160k
I think location should be less significant with remote work. I’m in Colorado getting paid a NY salary of $120k with 6 years of advertising specific experience. My copywriting friend is in Chicago making $110 but she wants to move to NM & her company is trying to cut her pay because “cost of living is so cheap in NM” to $90k. The same work shouldn’t cost less just because of where you are physically, especially in this housing market.
Unpopular opinion: it’s a whole new world & it shouldn’t matter if you’re in the Midwest or the South.
I started my career in Chicago making 45k then was promoted over 5 years to 65k. I jumped for 90k & after a merger announcement I jumped again. I’m at $120k now with 6 solid years of full time advertising experience (I have more from freelancing through & after college).
Hi I’m in Chicago as well! Can we connect? Looking to get into UI/UX design!
Los Angeles, 3 YOE (2.5 yoe interning in school), $75k base + OT and bonuses
Chicago, ~10 YOE, 75K
If you’re not in tech or CA/NY then the pay ranges tend to be overall lower IME
LA but remote, 1 YOE (8months internships unpaid ✨, 5month into current job), 103k base + 5~10%bonus depends on performance
Midwest, 3-4 YOE in UX, base 125k, TC $150k+
I have noticed sometimes product designers make more than UX, even though I’m required to do the whole process (research->dev handoff). Titles in the design world seem to really impact pay, have you considered transitioning into UX or product design?
Go into ux
there’s an entire thread I posted here with more: https://joinfishbowl.com/post_fg8ui9eju3
Columbus, Ohio
Digital designer - 3 YOE - Starting Salary $85k
8 Years as Graphic Designer in Los Angeles $75k yearly, but recently switched career to UX Design in Portland, Oregon $100k yearly.
I work as a UI/UX who sometimes does graphic and social media like you. small agency. I have almost 3 years of experience and a masters in graphic design/ UX. I get paid the same. It's extremely low from what I have seen from my classmates and also on glassdoor. However, being international, people tend to value my experiences and work lesser than Americans (this has been MY experience, ok?). to live in my area you'd need a min of 4k a month. Rent is crazy - even for older homes.
For my company in New Jersey, Junior graphic designers start at about 40k out of college.
NY, 75k, UX designer, 2YOE, kinda underpaid I guess
