If your heart isn’t set on CPG, pharma creds pretty much carry 1:1 weight in B2B.
No, I actually think you are not screwed at all! I’d venture a guess that it’s easier to go from pharma to something else rather than from something else to pharma. Because with pharma, there’s more particulars to know (submissions, legal review, legal review schedule, legal graphics, patient privacy, what you can and cannot say about therapies or disease states.) However, it’s probably taught you a lot, and those are transferable skills to any other segment of business. Go for it!
Going to have to disagree, it's not easy to get out as a creative in pharma. B2B is their best bet once the market gets better.
Up until like two years ago, it was really much easier to transition into pharma because the industry was desperate for any copywriters. And creatives who are ACD and up don't need to understand legal reviews or submissions at many agencies so there are many people at the top who have only gen advertising experience (but aged out of that side of our industry)
