Kavalan have a great range. Japanese whisky is for weebs
Love both - Japanese whisky used to be my go to before the craze hit / prices went ridiculous. Kavalan is great! Fino (although pricey) is one of my / my wife’s favs. The Vinho Barrique also has a very unique / distinct flavor profile (very surprised by the tropical fruit notes), and if you get it overseas, is reasonably priced. My family did a tour of the Kavalan distillery a while back and absolutely loved doing the blend your own bottle experience - think it was roughly $50-60 to make your own 500mL bottle and you got to play around with enough blends to get a good buzz going (think it was supposed to be like 8-10 tries, but the employee in charge let us keep going lol).
Omar is another one I’ve picked up in the past / thought it was fine (but I personally dig Kavalan more, although am a big TTL fan).
