Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

That’s cause many people abuse corporate codes. If you can back it up it should be very easy to demonstrate by sending and email or something quick. Hotel is not at fault
Agreed - I was shocked reading some of the responses to this post. God forbid a hotel try to verify that someone using a corporate rate is a actually employed at the corporation lol
Real annoying. I got in a fight with a hertz rental lady one time too. Asked also for a business card. Like what? It’s 2022. I’m a director and my last business card says associate. Like give me a break.
I showed them my work email on my phone and they said it was ok
Did you book it from your company email? They could’ve looked at your contact info for the reservation and verified it that way. Or just show the company email on your phone?
I use my gmail address for my Marriott account, but good call on the phone email; next time I’ll offer to email them from the account. Pregnancy brain at 8 months - didn’t even cross my mind.
Some these franchisees have turned into shady asshats since the pandemic. I tell everyone, if you ever have any issues with a property that can't be resolved quickly and professionally on site, call corporate Marriott customer service. One, corporate needs to be made aware of properties that are making life difficult for guests, especially higher tier Bonvoy members. Two, unless you're doing something legitimately illegal or against corporate policies, they care more about your loyalty than short term revenue and will make an effort to accommodate you or give other perks to offset the inconvenience to keep you as a guest.
Edit: I use the Accenture rate all the time for personal travel and my personal email. I've never been asked to verify. But if I was, I'd make a half ass effort because it's rarely enforced. If they did make a big deal of it, I'd definitely be on the phone with Marriott at the front desk. Have no patience for BS like that anymore
He made a show of offering to turn his computer around to show me that ID was required, went to discuss with his manager… it was unexpected and off-putting when all I wanted to do was get to my hotel room to work and sleep before a 7 am client meeting.
Was in a Westin this week And they didn't ask, sounds like you randomly got someone difficult.

Show your company email
Well they clearly asked because you were traveling with your husband: it appeared to be a personal trip. I think that’s pretty fair to verify.
You could always fall back on “I’m interviewing and was told by the recruiter to book using this rate”

To this point I still have my old business cards from Acn or PwC and I use those for verification purposes in case I need it.
I always use my work email to book and never have issues
Sending a quick email from your company email address should’ve made this all take 5 seconds… how is it possible no one in this scenario thought of this?
What does the fact that she was with a husband have to do with verifying the corporate rate? We have friends & family rate, which we can use for corporate and personal travel
BTW, AmEx corporate card has company name on it if that helps.
Our corp card doesn't but our health insurance cards have the logo so that normally works
In my decade traveling for work - I've been asked to prove my employer just once ever and it was at a Westin this year. I pulled up my work email on my phone. I am an ambassador. I've been more annoyed with hotels not honoring a 4PM checkout.
I actually don’t mind this. I understand that a late checkout can be difficult to honor with staffing shortages, even if hotel isn’t oversold. I always imagine that it means someone will have to scramble to clean and turn the room for a check in that evening. I’ve noticed that many hotels seem to primarily have housekeeping during the day - before 4 pm.
Ask for the GM and reem them out and get some points.
I had to show my gov client ID at a Marriott property last week for the Gov rate. That's never happened to me before either.
Never been asked to verify and use for personal as well.
Bizarre. And you are correct the company isn’t on the badge for security purposes. And mine is so old and faded it’s almost blank.

Yeah if the rate is super different then they’ll give you shit if you don’t have a biz card.
