I always wondered this (pure curiosity): Porn is not illegal, as long as you're not watching kiddie porn. So why is it not ok to watch on work laptop (assume not during working hours)? Or why is it any different from any other legal, non-work related activity that you use laptop for?

Yea what EY2 says - you will defiantly screw up at some point on that one.

Porn = Malware = You could end up in headline news with a data breach

EY3 - What else could lead to Malware? Besides obvious like illegal music and file downloads

Hey fishes. I have been offered Management Consultant role with CTC break up in terms of JB, RB, fixed and variable. So is the fixed amount my gross salary without any other deduction except TDS, or will the organisation contribution to PF be also deducted from the fixed component? Also, will claimable components like LTA, mobile bill reimbursement etc. be in addition to this fixed component or will they be included in it?

If you’re a Canadian looking for a Junior accountant role (0-2 years of experience in accounting) in tech, shoot me a DM

Primarily remote roles

Hi Fishes,

Any approximation on the in-hand salary would be highly appreciated, considering the fact that the PF is low!

Thanks

Question on on labor laws in the US:

Received an offer from Amazon but I'm concerned about negotiating hard and ending up with an offer that's on the higher end of the pay band when compared to the rest of the (future) team. My concern is during an economic downturn, it would be easier to let me go if the team needs to be downsized. This would be because I would have the least experience on the team & more expensive to retain from a cost perspective.

My concerns valid? #amazon #aws #faang

Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."

Just a reminder that outside our bubble no-one really cares about firm prestige etc.
