If you told them your minimum and they undercut that, it shows either how they deal with compensation or shows strength of the firm. Ton of factors, but if you are currently employed I’d stand my ground. Only reason for giving in is if this is a significant comp increase for you or if this is your dream firm/entering new field

Current salary is irrelevant to this offer imo.
Lots of guides online for how to phrase the email/prep for the convo (convo is generally preferred but whatever you’re more comfortable with), but in brief just structure as “I am looking for X compensation given my experience, skill, etc.” (obviously fleshed out). Depending on your background, with 20 years experience I think you could be targeting more $$ than the 120 but I’d recommend some due diligence across Glassdoor, levels.fyi, other Fishbowls, etc.
Just go into every conversation in good faith but be firm and confident in your abilities. You’ve got the offer and this company has explicitly said that it wants you, just make sure to that they value you at what you’re actually worth.
if you told them X salary, and they cannot meet it, they should have told you upfront instead of giving you this offer - this is a red flag on how they work..

I mean - if was about the money you would've left a while ago at 76k with 10 years experience.
