When jumping to SM at A, consider this if you are ready for the job. SM at A is 1 level below partner and the expectations are very high. If you are setting yourself up for failure, you will be out before you know it. If you are up for it, then no questions SM is the way to go
Comp? Benefits? Network? Type of work? Trajectory? Etc...
Weigh all the factors. Jumping for the title bump is not worth it.
The SM at ACN definitely looks attractive. Like D1 said consider the comp, group etc
The overall comp is 20+% higher but dint offer sign on bonus. Is it true that the sign ons at Acc are reserved only when you are relocating ?
SM for sure
Would also look at future factors beyond short term...working for a public company will be very different vs working for a private company. Payoff at the end (if you want P or equivalent) will be quite different and hugely different structure.
I second D2. I am myself trying to give myself some buffer to become SM.
Just to add I have 2 family members who are SMs at ACN and they have struggled and struggled to make it to MD. I feel like D preps you along the way and has expectations laid out. your SM years have a plan to get to your value prop. At ACN you bet on your very small network and an MD you will work like a dog for... only to find your only voice is leaving the company so you’re shit out of luck when you’re up.
Second D2 but your pay will be amazing 185 @ SM1
What was your offer OP? Was it worth it? I switched to D with 30% increase which is huge and I couldn’t say no. I hated my first few months and wanted to go back but there is a learning curve to every change.
