I’m planning on helping my little brother with college tuition. Thing is he wants to study English Lit and Sociology. I’ve looked into the employment rates, jobs, and avg salary in these fields and I don’t see a sincere future. Is wrong to make the college tuition help conditional on him studying something with a stable career ahead?

I know a couple college acquaintances that were English majors that are now working in the gig economy or service industry and I don’t want that for my brother.

Currently maxing out my 401k, my spouse’s 401k, and HSA. Socking away in 529s too. Investing leftover cash into taxable accounts (index ETFs). With my 2022 raise, I’m fortunate enough to have more left over and I’m wondering what others do. Interest rates are too low to justify parking lots of cash in a”high yield” savings account or CD. Real estate prices seem absurdly high to get in now on investment properties. I’m not savvy enough to pick individual stocks. Angel investing? Anything else?

I am based out of rajasthan, small town and currently work with infosys for past 8 years, am sure even if infy calls back to office, i can ask for wfh permanent or at my wish. i cant leave my hometown,as my wife is in rajasthan gov.

Now i have an offer from mphasis, atos, with 100% hike. Initially wfh remotely but later on if office opens, will have to move to bangalore.
