Try showing them what you can do. Put together some larger conceptual ideas on your own. Keep presenting the kind of work you want to be doing until they see you differently.
Also, ask the CM for advice / guidance, to show them you respect that it’s their turf.
Just ride it out till you get your bigger rrole. You don’t want to be stuck writing tweets anyway. Offer to help if they want it, but if they don’t, fuck em.
I think in every new job there’s a certain amount of a power struggle. Just prove your worth through the work you do and they’ll eventually see value. Even if they don’t, you were obviously hired by someone more important than them, so all you really have to impress is that person.
For further context, the company just started our in-house agency and I’m one of the first hires on the creative side

YES-Have been in the exact same position. Be the bigger person, let your work speak for itself and ride it out till their cracks start to show.
Basically, I’m getting the feeling that the community manager feels threatened by my presence and the brand manager (who didn’t have a big say in my hire) has their back and has been dismissive of me. Has anyone else been in a similar position? If so, how did you handle it?
