I'm unaware of any layoffs at PwC US (just usual annual talent management).

like

This. We haven’t laid anybody off due to COVID explicitly - just the regular run of the mill performance based layoffs

KPMG's have yet to happen, but we have been communicated to that they will.

like

Yeah....I’ve seen the speculation and am aware of the overpop/utilization situation. I guess I thought we were talking about something concrete.

Internal rumors that something may happen on 9/14-16

KPMG - the dates have been referred to by multiple people in our company bowl. leadership has alluded to extra “capacity” of resources that may need to be reconciled. Enough smoke to have everyone think something’s happening shortly.

like

@OP, they are still happening at Deloitte.

The waves 🌊 of layoffs keep coming

I am being laid off today. Got the email yesterday.... f$)k it! 😣

Sorry to hear l!

Have an average book at best. Somehow an okay agency hired and then fired me. I acquired lots of credit card debt in a short amount of time. Now I don’t feel I’ll get a chance again. I really don’t want to work menial job again but that seems it will soon be my only option.

How tough is it to lateral to a larger bank, or to exit into corp dev/strategy at a "large cap" company at the VP-ish level? I'm currently in IB at a smaller MM bank, but kind of trapped until I get my green card which obviously will be a few years. I don't hate my bank/team but I do feel limited by the bank (since obviously reputation/size dictates the deals the bank can win)

I’m a 2nd year and effectively just ran a deal on my own with the partner. It ran smoothly, I got praise from the partner, and the partner said that they trust me to do most stuff without their sign off (so no need to check with them in future unless I’m really unsure). Generally there is one or two mid levels above me, and I find it way harder to do my job when they are managing me. They like to keep me on the bench, get me to do minor tasks and don’t let me take responsibility and ownership.
