Is big 4 FDD hiring?
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?
McKinsey & Company How likely is McKinsey to rescind an offer if there's a recession/downturn before my start date? Received an Associate offer with a start date early in the Fall. But I'm worried about the offer being rescinded due to the ongoing McK scandals/issues and a potential recession in the making (which may prompt them to freeze hiring and/or renege offers).
Has this happened to anyone before at McKinsey, offer getting rescinded due to economic/company downturn? A bit worried

Cisco interviewed me for 3 months for a couple of roles and then offered me comp that is considerably less than my current comp for a product manager role!! They also said its cisco policy to not offer rsu for mcol cities. Rsu is apparently only meant for candidates in hcol cities.
Need to punch a bag every day for several days to get over this bs.

1. Make sure you know why you want this specific job (beyond the brand prestige)
2. Speak to as many people as possible who work at Google or in the role you’re targeting. Will help with (1) and will make sure you have a good sense of what skills to emphasize in your resume and discussions.
3. Prepare for the interview format; some teams are cases (BizOps) others are not (e.g. More functional roles or tech). Whatever the format, put together a practice to plan and a means to evaluate progress.
4. Understand the company. There are libraries full full of books on Google, and articles every day about it. Understand where the company came from, where it’s going, and how it’s going to get there. If you can get a solid foundation on the facts and industry trends then you should be able to logic your way to likely/possible futures. The better you do this the more enjoyable/comfortable interviews will be (Google interviews tend to be Google specific)
5. Expand you list of exit Ops beyond google. The hit rate there is so low that you could run a perfect race and still not make it. There are other companies out there that do really cool and fulfilling work, so don’t let the Google fairy dust blind you to them.
6. Relax! You may not get this role or the next one, but you’re likely qualified enough that you’ll end up somewhere good eventually...you just have to keep pushing and striving until you get there.
Good luck!

Be confident in yourself... I’m in a similar position and I started laughing at how tedious it can be to write about yourself!
Remember, it’s what you can offer... not what you necessarily want that gets you the role
General tips for interview with tech companies. Listen to the latest quarterly earning report (if listed, you can find the recording in the investor relations section; read its 10K (if listed) to know the main products/services, business model, cost structure, and competitor landscape; press search about the recent development/ major announcement; talk to people who work at that company (ideally the same function or in the same org in the broader sense); understand/follow recent tech trend (i.e. TechCrunch)
Just went through that process - know what you want and why you want it - research the role, team, company - and enjoy the process. It will really tell you about their culture and if you see yourself working with them.
