Looking for exit opportunities from Big4. Specifically in an ASC740 focused role. Are non-Big4 Firms or corporate tax departments hiring executive level personnel for such a role?

You’re an MD looking to leave? Why?

Mostly comp driven.

Around 10-15 years experience at that time.

Might be hard to get a comp increase in corporate tax if you are that specialized

I would imagine regional firms would allow direct admit to help grow ASC740 practice. For industry I would think could be VP of Tax.

Same here D1. But my offers were to build 740 practices specifically. Comp offers in the mid 300s were common but you have to remember at that level you have to actually be profitable depending on the work you’re doing/bring in.

Hello All, my joining date needs to be extended by 5 days in JPMC and HR said in call that no revised offer letter based on new joining date will be issued and new joining date confirmation will be somewhat communicated prior to 3 days of onboarding.
However he mentioned he will reply back with a confirmation email on top of the email which I have sent requesting for revised joining date.
Do you see any risk of offer cancellation/revocation here?

My current salary is under market average for my position but based off my coworkers’ negative experiences with asking for raises/promotions, I’m not really sure how to go about starting the conversation with my manager. There’s also a rumor going around that the company is going to scale back on our marketing efforts even though our VP tells us a different story. Either way I need more money and I just want to have that conversation before I begin looking for a new job.

Is Deloitte a staff aug organization? I’m interviewing with them and my last two consulting companies I worked with were glorified staffing agencies disguised as true consulting. Any tips for organizing a bedroom, closet, dresser & bathroom? My teen has IADHD, and low executive functioning. Her room looks like a land mine. Clean clothes are mixed in with dirty, her desk is a disaster, she won’t let go of clothes she’s outgrown, drawers are open with clothes hanging out. A therapist said to close her door if we don’t want to see it but it’s more than that. She needs this important life skill & I don’t know how to help. Easier to organize w/o her but that’s not a solution.

Went from a big firm to work for a smaller firm. The people in the smaller firm are protective of their work and are good by their work too. I no longer feel chaos or stress. I am treated with respect and my schedule is more normal. I am even working more billable hours than before, but it feels like a seamless experience. I don’t work then past 5pm or anything out of the ordinary for this time of the year. I am so grateful!
