Can’t add anything about Sydney culture or Deloitte Sydney culture because I live and work in another Australian city, but as an American who moved to Australia, don’t move in April and subject yourself to double winter. 🥶 September - December is the best time to move since you get double summer. 😎
Wow thank you, should have known this.
Consulting has pretty good culture in Sydney, although much of it is team dependent
Sydney culture is either high energy or nerd energy
Sydney is actually probably great for you if you're coming from Portland. Pretty diverse and open culture here at least from what I've seen. I am not a native Australian though.
I had to reach out to HR about something this year and had low hopes from working at other firms. The Sydney office HR is on its shit, that's all I have to say. I feel like less shady stuff happens in offices outside of the US.
As a new hire in Deloitte, the culture is good but very team and partner dependent. In essence, it depends on where you are in Deloitte. I've found breaking into existing groups of people fairly difficult here but I think that's more of a Sydney thing than Deloitte.
