It’s time for me to move on from my back office/CBS job at EY. I’ve been able to get through to recruiter and hiring manager screening round with FAANG employers and some tech companies but never beyond that. How can I differentiate myself when I’m probably also up against our client facing colleagues in consulting. I have about 12 years experience (7 at EY doing the same thing).
Layoffs at Walmart corporate 😬😬
This job is miserable without travel.

Trapp Candles. I like the Teak & Oud Wood. I believe they use something along the lines of 15% perfume where the $5-10 ones from target use 4-6%.
If you notice the line in the candles it’s because they use less perfume in the bottom half. I can’t remember the brand but they dropped from 5% to 2% in the bottom half of their candles. I’m sure it was one of us who recommended it because it saved them millions in direct costs.
Decent candles go for $50 -$100 ;) Diptyque, Cure Trudon, etc. Try once and you'll see the difference - a more subtle non-fake smell.
On the more affordable side, Voluspa.
Otherwise I would an unscented candle and find a room perfume you like.

Anthropologie candles are awesome
DW Home. Just buy directly from their website
Marshall’s and TJ Max sell DW Home candle, all year round, much cheaper than their website
Looks like DW candles are going for $16 - $20 a piece. Essentially dropping $20 for 2 day burn. Is that how much decent candles costs? Was hoping for something less.
Soy candles I think
You should only burn about four hours at a time, tops. That's probably why yours are burning down so fast.
Nest candles are 25% off right now, you get more value when you buy the larger ones so I would just stock up on a few right now and then use those
Until next Black Friday.
Wood Wick - as the name suggests, the wick is made of wood, and produces a mild crackling sound. I find it very relaxing to have it burn close to me when I am working. And it’s pretty cheap too - SGD 50 for a big jar
Yankee candles, large jar $25. Sometimes they have buy 1, get 1. Last for many hours of burning.
