Looking for some advise on the pros/cons of PI work. I have been looking to get back in to litigating and I hear this field can potentially be lucrative. I am more concerned with getting back into court and maintaining some QOL. I spent five years out of law school litigating on behalf of government municipalities in tort claims. I made a switch in late 2021 due to some personal/logistic reasons. Presently, I am an analyst for an insurance company dealing in high exposure claims.

So I’m an idiot auditor. I am about to promote to senior -I’ve gotten 3s on every review. I have an opportunity to move from audit to deal advisory within B4. Am I equipped to handle the new role??

They're offering me a good package with so many career benifits like an onsite, opportunity, certification n good technology exposure. I don't follow pop. culture anymore, no longer actively follow team sports (but sporty myself) as I consider it bread and circus for the masses and don't rly enjoy work drinks... Am I doomed? I am finishing up my second year of practice as a lawyer. I transitioned to plaintiffs pi work from a boutique commercial litigation firm. I like the work and not having to bill. The issue I am having is managing volume. I have about 150 active files some pre-lit and the rest are in litigation. Cases range in value from very small to low six figures. I also take the driver seat for the grunt work on the firms bigger cases which are at or near 7 figure value. I constantly feel (cont.)

Hi all, new-ish associate here at a Virginia firm - quick question: if a pleadings filing deadline for a GDC case ends up being on a Saturday or Sunday, does that mean that it can actually be filed by that following Monday since the court and clerk's office will be open then?

I currently work at a small PI firm in Atlanta were EVERYTHING is settled presuit. If we’re unable to settle, then it’s referred to another firm for litigation. This whole process seems very atypical to me and the attorneys rarely touch a file until the first liability offer is received. The paralegals handle everything from intake to drafting the demands. The attorney briefly skims (does NOT read) the demand packages and signs. Is this ethical?? Anyone else work at a firm that is run this way??
