Keep your late afternoon stride if it works with your lifestyle, but give yourself a later start time in the morning.
Or take a break in the middle of the day. I don’t see anything wrong with working when you are in the zone.
Cut down on alcohol and eat healthy and exercise. Those are better ways to feel stronger too and to be able to cope with work loads
Same here. I’ve now committed to a yoga class 2x weeknight and a trainer 1x weeknight. Since those are an expense it’s a hard stop to get to those new priorities — plus it’s a healthy outlet for my stress.
I have a dog that has an internal clock of needing to go for a walk.
Similar situation here, however I often have early morning calls and late day meetings also.
Other comments here are spot-on, I take a 90 minute lunch, some days I start late because I’m going grocery shopping. Some days I work late. I always keep my work calendar up-to-date!
As for needing a firm stopped to end, I do that twice a week. I have a neighbour who comes by and we have a cup of tea and catch up. Her kids are younger and she uses this time to recharge. I have another group of ladies who get together every Friday after work. We prioritise this time because one of the group is a brain cancer survivor. We know we need to enjoy the time we have left! We make a point of telling our coworkers why we leave (or why we log off) on Friday afternoons at 5 pm. It’s important for people to hear, and to know what happens on a regular basis.
Of course, if somebody has a business trip or something else, all rules go out the window. But that’s our normal rhythm.
