Looking to lateral out of my lit boutique into biglaw. Have had a few interviews where associates are expected to come in the office everyday. Does anyone know of any Dallas biglaw offices that are not asking for 5 days a week in the office for lit associates? Finding it hard to justify a jump when I go in twice a week (max) at my current firm.

Many of the Texas firms are doing 3-4 days in

like

Akin last I knew did 3-days per week in office.

like

V&E just announced 4 days this week

like

Foley does 4 days a week.

Husch Blackwell has a Dallas office and they are AM 100

Polsinelli was pretty flexible last I heard.

Ant idea on base comp years 3-5?

Baker Botts is 3 days

Most are 3-4 days in the office except DLA.

I interviewed at two other large firms (not DLA) that were also 5 days a week so I was starting to think it was a trend but based on the comments it isn’t

Other than that, He is a cure, nice and independent guy. When dating, he split money/ or want to cover for me. He cares about people around. I am happy but not sure about LT.

I’m a non-TX immigration attorney mentoring a UT student who went to my undergrad. He’s done incredibly well in OCI and pre-OCI. Thus far, he’s landed interviews with (all in Houston): Baker Botts, Sidley Austin, Kirkland, Winston Strawn, Reed Smith, Norton Rose, and Locke Lord. Also Perkins Coie in Dallas. He’s leaning transactional, but also open to litigation. Any insights/advice on these firms in the TX market? Any to avoid?

I wasn’t sure which bowl to solicit advice from so hoping to catch a bite here. I’m currently in ID. Of course, I want OUT! My interests are L&E and corporate. My options are 1) wait it out where I am in hopes to switch to L&E or 2) in house oil and gas industry transactional work. What would you do and why? I figured this bowl being specific to Texas would understand importance of oil and gas industry.
