Looking to travel to Portugal early June from the west coast. Is it worth going for 5-6 days including travel? If not, any other recs?

Yes. Went for 6 days last year, amazing trip and sufficient time to explore.

Would you be able to share your itinerary or suggest the city/cities I should go to? I imagine only 4 days so maybe one main city with an exploration day outside of it.

Worth it, but I wouldn’t try and do Lisbon + Porto + Algarve. Cap out at 2

like

Which 2 do you recon?

Two of those days are going to be travel. So you land the morning of day 2 and have to head to the airport morning of day 6 so you have 4 days total. I’m going in the fall and spending 4 nights in Lisbon (other nights in other countries) so you certain can do that. And I’ve done 5 day trips (including travel days) to London from the west coast and it was fun. I do feel like doing London is easier because it’s non stop but 6 days will be fine.

like

We have 3 full days in Lisbon plus a travel day in each side (arrive evening before and 11am flights next day). One day we are doing a full day tour to Sintra. I usually don’t do organized tours but my mother is going with me and she likes tours and it makes the travel easier. For the two days in Lisbon I used AI to create an itinerary for those days.

which cities?

Excellent

I was not impressed by Portugal’s main land. Go direct to Madeira - that’s where we wished we had spent a full week, and there are direct flights from NYC

I recently got an offer for a London location but it says I should be prepared to travel at least 2 times a week, but the number of travels depends on the team.@sainsbury

Partners - Do you ever take vacations?

I have been at my current firm for about 1.5 years, and in that entire time the partner in my group hasn't been out of the office a single time. Is that normal? I can't tell if it's standard for big law partners to not take time off, if the dynamics for my group may be different (only 1 partner in the entire group), or it the partner I work with is just a masochist.
