Does everyone use up all of their vacation days or some of you have days that are never used and eventually wasted at EOY?

I haven’t been to work since last Monday at 2pm. I’m not technically on vacation.

Wasting vacation days for this week seems like a sucker’s play...

You can carry over depending on level and manager discretion

like

Carry over also depends on country-specific regulations and cultural norms.

But keep in mind that your employer must provision for the carry over. Thus mgmt is not very fond of this. (But this also depends on local culture..)

I've never had problems rolling over vacation days. I think the max to roll over is supposed to be 5, with more at your manager/MD's discretion

I received a verbal offer for a VP position at CCB line of business at JPMC in NYC two weeks ago. The recruiter asked for salary expectations but there was no number set. It’s been two weeks since and complete radio silence. I sent an email to a hiring manager a week ago but received no reply. It’s August so people could be on vacation but this is really strange. Has anyone had similar experience?

Hey Boschlers,
Is tomorrow holiday??

The firm I work for is not closing for the hurricane. Staff were told to work from home or take PTO if they could not come in to the office (and the building is now closed until Friday). Is this normal?!

Considering a move to NTT Data in a healthcare consulting role. Mixed reviews in the bowls. Major concerns are bench policy, staff aug roles, 2 week PTO, and high turnover due to job dissatisfaction. Recruiter and mgr had great things to say around growth and opportunity, which doesn’t align with feedback from the bowls or Glassdoor.
Understanding things have changed there in the last few months, I need un-biased advice from fellow fish who have recently joined or can speak to recent changes

How is RSM PTO? Understand it’s unlimited, which limits more than accrued, but any insight on what you like/dislike?

Let's start a thread to highlight which industries and/or companies are doing right by their employees this holiday season. Share your job title and what kind of year-end bonus you are getting. (Feel free to share your company's name if you are comfortable doing that)

Desperate for help from HR experts!

According to California Law, employers must pay unused vacation. Each year, we are given 33 days of holidays, no accrual. I was just laid off and my employer only paid half of my vacation because it’s mid year. Is this legal?

In hibob it says I had 32.5 days accrued.

Thanks for your help!

Looking for recommendations on a good book/resource on how to manage people, especially when you’re managing teams to achieve tight deadlines and also overall leadership for those teams. Currently on a project with tight regulatory deadlines and feel like I’m struggling to push people without pissing them off. Great learning curve for me and a good read seems timely. TIA!
