After rejecting big companies like Infosys,Wipro, etc. I've joined EPAM Anywhere due to wfh permanently and it's perks. But after spending 1 and half month HR called me to search the opportunity outside of EPAM, means they're laying off people. It's unfair behaviour of the organisation. Has anyone here filed for unemployment in California?

I got laid off 2 weeks ago and at the time was seeing projections online that the fed govt pmts would only cover about 25 million ppl (not sure how accurate that is).

My claim is still pending with CA but the total amount projected per week is only $400; doesn’t include an extra $600 fed govt pmt. Does anyone know if the $600 gets added somewhere else in the process? I hope I didn’t just miss out because I was lay-off 25,000,001

Employment-at-will. Is that the norm in a consulting contract (I’m moving from Europe)? Can I / should I negotiate the notice period on their side or eventually the size of an eventual lay-off?

Does Globant terminates the employment of certain trainees after their probation(3 Months) based on their performance in the training period? Some of the fresher trainees were laid off this morning without giving a notice or reason.

We were told that the probation period is a training period & not an elimination one. It was shocking as a few of those trainees were actually good.
